Job Description:
As a Tax Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse range of clients, including law firms, real estate entities, international investors, and restaurants. This role will involve overseeing a team, providing expert guidance on tax planning, and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of tax returns. The Tax Manager will also work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored tax strategies that align with their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for clients in the legal, real estate, international investment, and restaurant sectors.
- Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing leadership and support in tax research, compliance, and client service.
- Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax laws.
- Develop and implement tax strategies for clients that minimize liabilities while maximizing opportunities for growth and tax efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing advice and updates on tax regulations that impact their businesses.
- Review and analyze tax legislation, identifying potential implications for clients and ensuring that they stay informed and compliant.
- Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and services are delivered with the highest level of professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
- At least 5-7 years of tax experience, with a focus on attorney firms, real estate, international investments, and/or restaurants.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, particularly as they pertain to the industries served.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with tax preparation software and other relevant tools.
