Role and Responsibilities:
As an Accounts and Audit Senior, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's accounting and audit functions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end financial statements for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conducting audits in accordance with relevant regulations, including planning, fieldwork, and finalization stages.
- Assisting with the completion of audit assignments, including preparing audit files, identifying and documenting risks, and testing controls.
- Liaising with clients to gather necessary information, resolve queries, and provide expert advice on financial matters.
- Assisting senior team members with ad-hoc assignments and special projects as required.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A solid background in accountancy, with experience in accounts preparation and auditing.
- Ideally, you will have obtained or be working towards a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including FRS 102 and IFRS.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- The ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including Microsoft Excel and accounting packages (e.g., Xero, Sage).
