About the Role:
Our client, a leading accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Managing Director to join their leadership team. This pivotal role will focus on tax strategies, regulatory compliance, and reducing tax burdens for clients. The ideal candidate will oversee the firm's tax processes, manage key client relationships, and participate in business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on tax implications, strategies, and regulatory changes.
- Make high-level decisions regarding tax filings, preparation, and government inquiries.
- Supervise tax processes, acting as a final or secondary reviewer.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact for complex tax issues.
- Lead business development efforts, including marketing and networking activities.
- Work closely with the leadership team to drive firm growth and maintain high service standards.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or professional services.
- Expertise in Flow Through taxation; experience with International, Individual, or Estate & Gift taxation is a plus.
- Proven supervisory experience and ability to manage a team of tax professionals.
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in the U.S.), or IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently, conduct tax research, and solve complex issues with minimal oversight.
- Executive presence and the ability to effectively present and resolve client issues.
